Eileen has a BA Degree and Certificate in Education from the University of Lancaster and the ARELS Certificate in Teaching English One to One.

For over 15 years she taught English in State schools and also taught  English as a Second Language to Adults in Colleges. She also has business experience in the chemical industry, local government, tourism and retailing, and for 5 years was Company Director of a small business. Eileen became a Homestay Teacher in 1997, and since then she has enjoyed teaching English to students from many countries.

Joe has a BSc Degree in Physics from Imperial College, London and is a Member of the Institute of Physics. He has over 30 years experience of working for private industry and for the State.

As a senior manager in a government department regulating national health and safety, his responsibilities included drafting and enforcing safety requirements, producing and agreeing documentation, making presentations, and attending and chairing meetings with industry and government departments. He represented the UK in Working Group meetings with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development and the European Union. After early retirement, Joe worked as a consultant before receiving  training in TEFL. He now utilises his extensive managerial and technical experience to teach English in partnership with Eileen.
